![]() ![]() The grandchildren had the notes retyped and slightly editted and enlarged into a 3 column format. How many people do you think consult a Dake Bible, but pretend they got the information elsewhere or thought it up themselves, rather than be transparent about where they got it?Ĭlick to expand.I found a message board, but people are more interested in selling mint condition old 4 column Bibles, than discussing the Bible content and studying it. Would you choose a Dake over a Bible with no study notes or fewer study notes? I have known people in this situation that read the Bible through multiple times, and wanted the biggest Bible possible. Imagine you were in solitary confinement at a prison and could only have a single Bible to "practice your religion" and had nothing else except the trash from your meal and your clothes and toiletries to amuse yourself. Unless you think it is so bad that it does not include the word of God so would be a sin to read it, what would you do with it? If you think the Dake Bible is horrible, what would you do with it if it were all you had for a couple months, besides a cell phone? Yeah, yeah, use it as firewood. I am considering the idea of attempting to use a Large print Dake as my travel Bible on the next hop. Last time I flew, thanks to social distancing, I had the whole row to myself and used my Bible as a pillow. I have learned that when flying, no matter how large a Bible I am holding in my arms, it usually is not counted towards either my "purse" or "carry on". ![]() Does anyone know of other Matthew 3 dispensationalists?Īs I have shared before, my life is pretty mobile, and I usually have to leave most of my books behind. It has a lot of notes, and the lists are interestingĬons: I'll let other people have the fun of listing thoseĭispensations: The Dispensation of Grace starts in Matthew 3, which sounds more reformed than dispensational. It comes in large print with a modern crisp font (my eyes are too weak for regular print and light text).Has anyone been able to use this Bible as their primary Bible, without getting all hung up on issues that they don't agree with? Or does anyone agree with most or all of the notes? Studying out the things I loved about it (and there is a lot) but shying away from biases and opinions.Soooo. While I found myself reading this Bible I sometimes felt like one who is just doing a little window shopping. Yet at the same time, the strong Pentecostal influence it bears can make one feel like an outsider if you don’t hold to those beliefs. It really has the power to open the readers eyes to topics in the Bible that you probably have never even though of before. I share a love hate relationship with this Bible. It has a flimsy feel to it and could be a little bit longer. While the craftsmanship of this Bible is top notch, the single ribbon leaves much to be desired. There are several detailed charts located at the back of this Bible however, they are so small that they almost seem unreadable. While many aspects of this Bible are truly awesome, If you do not hold to the Pentecostal beliefs you can find yourself feeling a bit alienated. The Badįinis Dake does not take a conservative approach regarding his opinions in this study Bible. It also contains one of the largest and in dept concordance and cyclopedic index that I have ever seen in a Bible. This Bible has both a durable yet sleek feel to it. The quality is superb and has left me very impressed with both the bonded leather and the paper itself. While most study Bibles explain verses and their contexts The Dake Annotated Reference Bible also adds topical notes and discussions that the reader may not typically observe unless otherwise pointed out. I keep finding myself getting lost in the topical notes found throughout. ![]() This Bible may possible contain more study notes then any of the Bibles that I own. The Dake Annotated Reference Bible is in a league of its own when it comes to study notes. ![]()
